Habitat for HumanityDuring our 21-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity we have donated close to 300,000 window coverings to homes built for deserving low-income families. In addition, many of our employees have invested sweat-equity to help build hundreds of HFH homes with their own hands. |
The Hunter Douglas Endowment for Microfinance SustainabilityOur Endowment for Microfinance Sustainability is a liquidity account that is leveraging $73 million in guarantor backed microloans to deeply impoverished individuals. The Endowment is providing food security for 660,000 poor people (60 percent of whom are children) on an annual basis. Since disbursing its first loan in 2006, MCE has financed loans for over 175,000 poor micro-borrowers. |
Solar Water PumpsHunter Douglas' philanthropic efforts in Ndem (a village in Senegal, Africa) have forged lasting bonds of friendship. Ndem is a special place with enlightened leaders who are committed to establishing a communal, sustainable village where a spirit of optimism exists. The welcoming and hard working villagers make long treks each day to the well for water. As we saw the issues these people were facing, we also saw an opportunity to help out. By engineering and developing a solar water pump system, we've been able to help these villagers have a consistent water supply. |
RoparunSince 2005, Hunter Douglas has raised substantial funds for the Roparun (Rotterdam Paris RUN) - the longest non-stop relay race in the world. A unique sports event with a unique goal, Roparun raises millions of Euros each year for efforts to support terminally ill patients, such as hospices, medical equipment and holiday homes for cancer patients. |
Cleveland ClinicWe also proudly provide financial support to the Cleveland Clinic's Advanced Robotics and Imaging Fund to help scientific breakthroughs in preventing and defeating disease. |
ReliefHunter Douglas has always gotten involved in disaster relief efforts. During the Asian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, we contributed more than $1.4 million and for the Haiti fund Hunter Douglas raised $500,000 with the broad support of our employees and fabricator customers. |
